The Newcastle Chamber of Commerce Logo and Link Guidelines

These guidelines are given in order to ensure that all Newcastle Chamber of Commerce logos are used appropriately in all applications. This is vital to the development in the public’s mind of this identity with The Chamber. It is necessary that these guidelines are followed by those who are involved with preparing printed, visual and “new media” communications for The Chamber and Chamber members. The Chamber staff is committed to projecting this consistent identity. As some logos are new, you may wish to consult with the marketing/communications department regarding your various uses of the logo. Please contact us if you have any questions or if you need other versions of logos.

Incorrect Application of the Logo

The following key principles apply when using The Chamber or Chamber member logos:

  • Do not alter or modify the mark in any way. Ensure the mark is reproduced from art provided by The Chamber. Do not add any tag lines or other descriptors to the mark.
  • Do not use the logo within text. The logo should always stand alone. Do not change the typesetting or style of the logo.
  • Do not rotate, distort or reshape the logo. Be especially aware of this when importing the mark into different programs and when reducing the size. Please ensure that the horizontal and vertical scale are reduced or enlarged equally.

Background

The preferred background color is white or black. Requests for exceptions must be approved by The Chamber.

Protected Area

In order to ensure that The Chamber logo is not infringed upon, there is a protected area surrounding the logo. Draw an imaginary rectangle around the logo. This represents the minimum distance between The Chamber mark and all neighboring graphic elements. The area contained within this rectangle is protected. No text, graphic elements, trade names, trademarks, symbols, logos, marks, emblems, or service marks may intrude upon this protected area.

Link Usage

In order to protect our identity and our members, we do not allow any mark, logo, or any other Chamber identifying image to be used by anyone other than members without previous consent. We ask that all Chamber members using the member logo on a web site (and/or any other online digital document) provide an image link back to the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce home page. We also ask that whenever the initial image link to our page is created that we are contacted either by email, phone or fax that we may continue to evaluate the effectiveness and context of use in relation to our mark. Any other questions can be directed towards the contacts below.

Ownership of the Mark/Logo

The Chamber marks, logos and any other Chamber identifying images are the sole property of The Chamber. Permission to use such marks, logos and other Chamber identifying images shall not be construed as an assignment or grant to anyone by The Chamber of any right, title or interest in or to The Chamber's marks, logos or any other Chamber identifying images, nor as permission to register or assert ownership of any trademark, service mark, design or copyright pertaining thereto. No action may be taken that would be to the detriment of The Chamber's right, title and interest in its marks, logos or any other Chamber identifying images.

Correct Use of the Chamber/Chamber Member Logo

The Chamber member logo may only be used on media directly connected to Newcastle Chamber of Commerce members. Media is defined as any and all digital, print and “new media” communication and or marketing. Any other use of the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce logo/mark/branding not previously defined in this document must have direct authorization by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce communications/marketing department prior to use. The marks, logos or any other Chamber identifying images may not be used as part of the name of any product or service of the user. The marks, logos or any other Chamber identifying images may not be used in any negative advertisement or in any manner that is contrary to public morals or which has been found to be deceptive or misleading or reflects unfavorably upon the good name, goodwill, reputation or image of The Chamber.

Bulk Rate Permit and Membership List

We are pleased to provide you with the bulk rate mail logo and the Chamber membership list as a benefit extended to members in good standing. Click here for the agreement for this service. Please read carefully before signing and then return to us either by fax (405.387.3885) or in person.

We can email the Bulk Mail Permit image and the first Membership mailing excel list to you at no charge. If you choose to use the bulk mail stamp rather than the image, you will need to pick it up at our office.

There is a cost for the Membership Mailing labels or printed copy of the membership Mailing list. Please note that the first electronic version is free.

The use of the Chamber's Bulk Rate Permit is a privilege offered to Chamber Members only, and if used properly can serve as a tremendous benefit to your business. The following will familiarize you with the procedures required by the Newcastle Post Office for the use of the Bulk Mailing Permit and will streamline your efforts to a large degree.

  • The cost/piece rate varies with size and weight. Take one mailing piece with you to the Post Office at which time you can verify the costs of your mailing and receive a bulk rate form (form 3602) for your mailing. The Post Office is open Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm.
  • TRY NOT to generate your mailing until you have verified information with the Post Office and received the bulk mail logo. This will save you time and money!
  • It is advisable to always include "or current resident" on all mailings!
  • Bring the bulk rate form, as verification, to the Chamber and we will provide you with the Chamber permit either by email or in person.
  • You must have a minimum of 200 "identical" pieces for each mailing and it must be mailed out of the Newcastle Post Office.
  • You must count and place entire mailing in postal trays before you take the mailing.

Remember, the Newcastle Post Office is only the departure point for your mailing. You are responsible for completing all the previous steps accurately. By visiting the Post Office before you begin, time and frustration will be alleviated.

**Each level of membership has a specified amount of access to the Bulk Rate Permit. Click here for more information.
