- Drivers License (renew every 4 years)
- Initial License:Those wanting an initial Oklahoma driver's license must pass a written test as well as a driving test administered by an examiner from the Department of Public Safety.
- Renewal License:Those simply wanting to renew their not-yet-expired Oklahoma driver's license can do so at any tag agency. You must bring a primary and secondary form of identification (see link below), and your expiring license functions as a primary.
- Replacement License:Getting a replacement license for one that was lost or stolen is the same as renewal. However, restrictions are more stringent for those 21-26 years of age due to the frequency of attempts to break underage drinking laws. Drivers within that age group must have a certified birth certificate and a notarized affidavit (available at the Department of Public Safety) completed by another licensed driver of at least 21 years of age.
- Transfer valid license from another state:Those moving to Oklahoma that possess a valid driver's license from another state need to first make sure vehicles are registered in Oklahoma. Once completed, visit a exam location (listed below) and refer to proof of id required (below).
- Expired Licenses:If you've allowed your Oklahoma Drivers License to expired (more than 30 days), you must appear before an examiner/agent and establish "legal presence in the U.S."

| All vehicles, boats and outboard motors in excess of 10 horsepower are registered annually, unless in salvage or junked status (salvage/junk title issued). No exclusions are made for vehicles/boats/motors not in use.
The type of registration depends upon the type of vehicle, its use and, in some instances, upon the special qualification of the owner.

The Motor Vehicle Division of the Oklahoma Tax Commission deals primarily with the titling and registering of vehicles, boats, outboard motors, manufactured homes, travel trailers and commercial trailers. The Division is located at 2501 Lincoln Boulevard in Oklahoma City.
Please be advised the State of Oklahoma utilizes a statewide network of over 300 motor license agents
(Local Chamber member: Tri City Tag Agency). They have the capability of processing virtually any vehicle title and/or registration transaction, applying the identical tax and fee structure. To expedite your request, you may wish to visit
one of these offices.
Many forms relating to vehicle/boat/motor titling and registration are available for downloading from the Motor Vehicle Forms page of the Oklahoma Tax Commission's web site. |
